FAQ

Q: What makes Pure Motion different?

A: We team up so that you can level up! One of our unique strengths is combining forces with each other and across disciplines to create a more comprehensive and effective care plan for our clients.

Pure Motion also has a reputation for being the therapists that other therapists come to for treatment, and are often sought out by other healthcare professionals to help with more complex cases.

This comes from our love of learning and progress, and vision to help everyone reach their highest potential. We incorporate sensory-motor integration techniques such as NeuroKinetic Therapy, Proprioceptive-Deep Tendon Reflex, medical acupuncture, Craniosacral Therapy, and others.

Our advanced training helps deepen your care for concussions, musculoskeletal injuries, vestibular therapy, and optimizing for peak physical performance.

Billing and Fees:

Q: What is the cost to be treated?

A: There are varying costs for each practitioner and treatment type. Please call us or explore our appointment booking link for the exact cost of each session.

Q: Do you provide direct billing for private insurance?

A: We do direct bill to most private insurance providers for Physiotherapy, Chiropractic and Massage Therapy services. We do not direct bill for Osteopathy services.

Q: Can you check to see if my visit will be covered by insurance before my appointment?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot check for you whether or not your insurance will cover the cost of your treatment before the appointment. Please call your insurance provider to confirm coverage.

Q: Do I need a doctor’s referral before I come to see you?

A: No, we do not require a referral before you come to the clinic. However, if you plan to bill to an insurance company, some plans do stipulate that a referral is necessary. Please call your provider to confirm if a referral is necessary.

Q: Are you an OHIP clinic?

A: No, unfortunately, we are not an OHIP clinic.

Q: Do you work with WSIB claims?

A: No, unfortunately, we are not a WSIB clinic.

Q: Is there a cancellation policy in place?

A: Yes. We have a 24-hour late cancellation and no-show policy in place to protect our practitioners’ time and improve our availability to our clients. Please allow at least 24 hours to cancel or reschedule appointments so that we have enough time to fill your appointment time with someone else who may be in need of that time. Late cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full cost of the visit (and are often not covered by insurance).

Q: Do you take debit, credit, American Express, and cash?

A: Yes, we take all of the above.

Q: Do you offer gift cards?

A: Yes, we do offer gift cards. Call, email, or stop by and we’d be happy to get you a gift card for you or a loved one to use on services at Pure Motion Centre!

Q: Are (monetary) tips expected for practitioners?

A: No. We do not expect or want any tips, or gifts. The best way to show your appreciation would be to recommend us to your friends and family and leave us a review on Google

Treatment Sessions:

Q: How many treatments will I need before I’m better?

A: While we have a reputation for facilitating lasting results in fewer treatments, every case is unique. Some concerns may be resolved in just one or two treatments, others may take longer depending on the nature of the issue.

Q: I don’t know what kind of treatment I need (Chiropractic vs. Physiotherapy vs. Massage therapy). May I speak with someone to determine what treatment is best for me?

A: Our practitioners are trained in different specialities and techniques. If you are unsure who you would like to see, please do not hesitate to reach out to us (info@puremotioncentre.com) so we can direct you to the best individual or discipline for your issue.

Q: What should I expect at the first appointment? Should I bring anything in particular?

A: The first appointment will include a verbal history of your concerns as well as physical assessments to locate the root of your concern. In addition, there will be some treatments provided. It would be helpful to wear clothes that you are comfortable moving in. If you have extra documentation that may help the practitioners, that is great to add, but is not necessary.

Q: Do you offer virtual treatments?

A: Yes, we offer virtual treatments.

Q: May I see other practitioners in the clinic?

A: Absolutely! One of Pure Motion’s unique strengths is combining forces with each other and across disciplines to create a more comprehensive and effective care plan for you. In most cases, it is best for each practitioner to spend an hour to reassess you when they meet you for the first time.

Q: Do you use ultrasound therapy? Muscle stimulation?

A: No, we provide one-on-one care using manual therapy and movement training at Pure Motion. We do offer cold laser,  acupuncture, and cupping treatments when appropriate.

Acupuncture

Q: What is it?

A: Medical acupuncture is a precise needling technique that targets the nervous system to help it function optimally, recover from injury or tissue trauma and improve performance on the neuromuscular system.

Contemporary medical acupuncture has its roots in traditional Chinese medicine, but is adapted for modern clinical practice.

Q: How does it work?

A: Medical acupuncture helps stimulate nerves and muscles that are not firing correctly. The needling technique also helps increase blood flow and speeds up the body’s natural healing process – delivering oxygen, healing cells, & endorphins.

Q: Does it hurt?

A: It should not! Some people say they do not feel it at all (the needles are 1/4 of a mm thick).

You should only experience a mild sensation, if anything. A mild aching sensation is common. There may be minor bruising or bleeding at the site where the needles enter the skin.

Q: What to expect after the session:

A: Most people report feeling very relaxed, some feel more energy. There is a reduction of pain and other symptoms often after the very first visit, but it may take 2-3 visits for the relief to set in.
